A little test from January
I haven't shot much since our daughter was born in December, but I managed to sneak out of the house and make this, with a few friends

Jackie Chambers promotional portrait by Cutts Imaging Group Los Angeles
I shoot Jackie a few weeks ago against a white wall in her apartment with one light in a medium soft box.
Jackie is a fashion blogger and the founder of www.tgifguide.com. She needed a promo photo she can send out to conferences and such she speaks at.
I had a shoot canceled the day after we shot, so I retouched a few of my favorites instead of stewing over getting canceled on.

Anna East
I photographed Anna for my friend Angel a stylist and make-up artist.
We shoot for a whole day in her friends beautiful home, and there wasn't a whole lot of room, but I set up my beauty dish and luged it around the house for most of the day.
Switched to the 580EX2 for this last look.

Helen's headshot. Cutts Imaging Group Los Angeles
I shot Helen's model portfolio in February. We worked with natural light for a bit and I talked her into shooting a headshot with my strobes.

Carla Chiron de la Casiniere, Los Angeles headshots by Cutts Imaging Group
I photographer Carla a few weeks ago in Venice, CA. We squeezed all my gear around here living room furniture and tiptoed around shooting for a couple of hours. Carla is a resent transplant from Vegas who has been acting and modeling. Here's a little YouTube video for you. It is always great to work with a confident actor who has modeling experience. They know how their bodies work, take direction and work with it creatively. Carla was fantastic, not only did we nail each look, but we geek talked most of the night, she used to work in a comic book store (my people).

Dennis/JAWS Artist portrait by Cutts Imaging Group Los Angeles
I drove in to LA Sunday morning to photograph Dennis. He's almost done, or really done a new album (don't remember which) so we worked on making him an image for the album cover.
I decided to push the processing pretty hard, mostly just to see what I could do, and how far I could push and still be happy with the results.
Always being safe I had to get something close to my style.

So where do you want to shoot?
It's always the first or second question a client asks, and honestly I'd love to say "come on over to the studio, we'll shoot and you can give me a big wad of cash", but since I don't (at the moment) have a studio, cause that's like expensive and stuff, I'm a traveller. A few brave souls have ventured out to the house, but I know it's hike, and most aren't willing to make the trek. T and I shot Michelle in her tiny (maybe 12x15) studio apartment, it was tight, but doable. We tried to set up outside, but the wind kept tearing the backdrop paper so we headed in.
I can probably make any room in most apartments work. When I shot Manuel; he and the background were on one end of his living room, my main lights were behind a couch, and I photographed on the other side of the living room table. It made moving around kind of a chore, but we made it work, and got some great photo's. So if you want to drive to me (San Bernardno) that's great, but I bet you have enough space for me to photograph in.
